Today is WORLD AIDS DAYS, we remember the people who had perished because of HIV to AIDS related diseases. Some had lived long enough to enjoy a fulfilled life while some didn’t last long enough when they learned that they were already HIV +. Here in the Philippines the risk of getting infected with HIV increased dramatically from a few to thousands. With the emergence of the internet and the advantage of mobile phone making it easier to get hook-ups had seemingly made it easier for closeted gay men to make connections with other gay men as easy sa opening a bottle of beer.
What is essential now is that people should learn that HIV is still here, there is still no definite cure. People should learn the unprotective is stupid while taking precautions or abstince is still the key to stay negative.
Today we remember the people who lost their lives from this dreadful disease it doesn’t matter if your gay or straight, married or prostitute, a child or adult – what matters is we all have the right to live, to know, to be cured and to be safe. Were all human black or white or brown or yellow – were all affected.
Packo, my friend, you are the only person I know who said anything about 12/1 being World AIDS day. I knew it, and even I forgot. Bless you for remembering. ^_^
Its something close to my heart.
